Ed35 Goes Back Home to Wolfsburg
« on: 13 February 2013, 14:58 »
the stock watkins glens are giving me a few headaches on the bbk front, STASIS and 4 point APs need spacers, my porkas need spacers, i could go VWR with there new integral spacer but fancy floating discs

as i want to run it on some lightweight performance oriented 18s just mulling over wheels (ill spacer the stock 35 rims) in gloss black or anthracite

TDs and VWRs I've done but everyone has them, 18x8 in 45 offset

Speedline Turinis in Anthracite but on 18x8 with a 42 i may get some rubbing

Compomotive MVS 1880 in 18x8

First choice was the VW Motorsport ones but 7.5j is probably going to end in tears

If I was keeping the gti I was going to go for the vw racing stuff in red callipers, personally I would go for the bbs in similar colour to stock Watkins steel.

I'm running the standard VWR discs and bells (not the 10mm oversize bells) and can get away with a 5mm spacer to clear the VWR 6 pots with the BBS CHs (et50)but due to 5mm spacers causing wheel wobble i run 10mm spacers, the 225-40-18 Yokohama tyres that I am running have a very upright side wall and did rub when lowered right down and really pushing on, they are ok with general driving, I have recently had my arches rolled to sort this out, but still have my winter tyres on at the mo so not had chance to try it out, it should be fine now as they only rubbed slightly

Ive got 5mm H&R hub centric spacers, with no issues what so ever.  When are we getting the cars on the rollers together?  Can you make it to JKM for the March meet?

5mm hub centric are what i prob need, if i can get time to get back to Revo i may come down, with the chassis mods its quite good fun in standard tune

Im thinking chassis next and have been offered a good price on a H& R coil over setup.  Never done coil overs, but I think it will just complete the package, what do you think?

with the b16s pss10s and arbs i reckon on stock map the 35 is faster point to point than the Pirelli on Stage 1 with standard suspension, its in a different league and still up to a 2,000 mile road trip across Europe

i'd say go two way though as i'running 3 out of 10 given uk roads
