1.6 gear linkage bushes
« on: 12 February 2013, 16:07 »
Not for me, obviously, but for my girlfriend. She's got an M reg 1.6 and 5th is near impossible finding. After a quick look at the linkages the problem was obvious. I've looked on eBay but the only one I could find (other than tierod69 which lists the same) was this.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GEAR-SHIFT-REPAIR-KIT-NEW-ROD-CHANGE-VW-GOLF-MK3-VENTO-CABRIOLET-1-8-1-9-2-0-/360590236540

Says for 1.8, 1.9d and 2l 8v,but isn't the 1.6 gearbox the 020? Which is the same as the other rod models?

Thought it would be, 1.4 through to 2l 8v and 1.9d share the same 020 box, it's just 1.9tdi, 16v and vr6 that have 02A.

No idea what box is on mine, it's an MPI. I did swap the shift tower out to one off my 8v GTI and both were identical.

Where all my moneys went.

085 type box (same as fitted to rovers!) or 084 if 4 speed!
