bit of a random question...

i just crept out of my driveway and a cyclist narrowly missed my motor.

he was on the path so, irrelevant of injury, he would have been at fault had he hit me right?

a cyclist dropped off the curb and rode straight into my nearside front wing I was very nice and gave the gentleman a lift home few months passed I got a letter saying hes after compensation best bit was young male drove his "Subaru" out of a junction without looking  the things that happen when your nice case is still pending but even my Tesco insurance have said most likely they will pay out as he wont get much money ( less then 1k) and my excess is £950 quid. to take it to court could cost them up to 10k so basically they are taking the easy option even tho im not at fault in anyway this dick is looking to make a quick buck.

insurance is a f**king joke I paid £2500 quid for the policy (turbo 2000) as well wtf do we pay insurance for when they don't even fight the case?

I also said all the illegal to ride on the pavement ect and got told this statutes are so old you'd get laughed out of court

that is absolute BS man! the worst thing about it is anyone with the tiniest bit of common sense can see that it was an ACCIDENT and no one is at fault. i can't say i'm surprised he's chancing his arm, everyone does it now. This is the problem with our society nowadays, where there's blame there's a claim, or in this case not even that!
we're turning into america, everyone suing everyone, and people don't understand why insurance costs go up and up (brokers greed excluded of course).

loving everyone's input btw, knew this would be a good thread to start lol

I have both bunched and deliberately ridden into cars before, cyclists aren't the only bad road users

I'd say us cyclists are better than the supermarket dingers in Jords thread. Plus drivers have to insure their motor...us cyclists can hit and run without even a number plate to chase up on

As mentioned, if they were riding on the pavement then it was illegal, so 100% their fault.
