Car insurance?
« on: 11 February 2013, 15:30 »
I know it's asked a lot, my insurance renewal is coming up and wondering if classic insurance is the way to go, I'm 24 with 4 years no claims and do about 7-8 thousand miles a year, can anyone recommend some company's?

Try

Sky
Green light
Adrian Flux
HIC
Brentacre

I always enjoy insurance renewal time, getting quotes from them all then making them beach each other's prices

The most recent renewal was a record breaker, £1092 renewal to £600, from the same company

I have CCI with Lancaster on my VR, cost me a 3rd of what i was paying previously but thats a limited mileage of 6000 and also it doesn't cover me to drive other cars unfortunately.

you may find it hard to find classic insurance on the mk3 but it's worth a try (although my brother has classic insurance on his corrado)

I really have to insure with my employers!! shame as they have limited knowledge of mods etc!

You also usually have to be 25 to get a classic policy

I'm insured with HIC, similar situation to you but I've got third party, fire and theft, no classic policy but mods allowed (usually without a premium), paying £550. Best I ever had and that's on my Anniversary.

Just got to shop around, look in the insurance part of the forum. (Which funny enough, is where I'm about to send this thread).

It might also be worth trying Brentacre, they were the cheapest by miles on the Octavia vRS against other specialists.

Moneysupermarket everytime!

Very, very unlikely you will get classic as they usually say less than 3000 miles p.a.
