ECU sawp?

Quick question. Will any ecu form any year run my  8vGti as long as i get it de/re-coded? (and aslong as from another 8vGti)

No it won't (engines are fairly different, at least 3 2.0 8v were used in GTIs).... check which part number yours got and get the same. then get keys paired.

Bummer. Iv got a chip for mine but its a solderin job was hopeing i could swap the ecu to a plugin one and get it recoded.
Anyone good at soldering?

Just take out your ECU, get the code/part No. off it and buy a spare, theres always a healthy amount on the bay for a good price, think I've got 2 in my garage.
from memory, the AGG had 7 different ECU's, the ADY had 4 and the 2E had 3, not like VW to mix it up a little bit lol  :smiley:
