vw golf mk4 1.6 problem

i have a problem with a golf mk4 1999 t reg it has been standing a while and i managed to get it started today and the 'i' light flashes in the centre of the speedo clock just wondering what this sign means

An i or a explanation mark? it flashes normaly due to low brake fluid
