Sorry - didn't explain that very well. The offer is 1550 and they keep the car or 1400 and I keep it. So effectively they are saying my trashed mottor is only worth 150.

No, they are saying it is worth £1550 but letting you have the option to buy it back. If you're still getting £1400 after getting it back then use that to put it back on the road. :afro:

Erm, no they're not!

They're saying that your car is worth £1550, hence why they have offered that

They usually give you the option to buy it back from them for a minimal fee because it saves them the hassle of dealing with the disposal of it.

Buy it off them for £150, strip it for parts then weigh in the rest, job done.

Aren't they saying it was worth 1550 but in its current state it's only worth 150. But yes, I'd have thought the parts are worth well in excess of that, buy I guess that's how scrappiest make their money.

That seems like a very good deal to me, they're paying a fair price and letting you have the car back for scrap value

Where are you?

Sure someone would buy it off ya. I will if the buying of a Clio doesn't go through.

Where all my moneys went.

Golf MK3 1.6. Golf MK3 8v GTI.

What engine is it? If its a 20v turbo then buy it back, sell the parts and take the £1400. Put that and what you make towards a new car.
