Two shades of dragon green?
« on: 06 February 2013, 13:15 »
My 94 vr6 is a lighter shade than my 97 gti, both dragon green. Now I thought nothing of this as the vr6 has been resprayed due to the body mods.

But the other night a friend of mine said to me the early dragons greens are light than the later ones. Making it hard to swap parts. I didn't mention mine where different to him either.

Can anyone confirm this?

There will be more than two shades, all grouped under the same colour code

Satin silver has 12 shades all under the same colour code for example

It may well be.

My car is a 98 (R) MK3 in dragon green, Before it got damaged the colour was darker. After getting it re-sprayed the colour is much lighter than it was before.

I put it down to it being new piant,  But you may well be right, they are 2 shades.

there's lots of slightly different shades and you'll only really notice putting 2 cars from a couple of years apart together.
and even more so with vw changing the paint totally in 1996 (to crap water based paint that is crap!).

b.t.w there about 15 shades of LC9Z diamond black!!
