Oil foam?
« on: 30 January 2013, 13:56 »
Just noticed this:

What does it mean? Sorry couldn't find anything quite similar when I searched, though I'm sure it's there.

edit: Checked it after a 10 min drive around the city

It's cold, you probably drive short distances so it's no surprise that you have some mayo there.

Nothing to worry about in 99.9% of cases (the other 0.1% you got foam on dip stick and it will use massive amounts of coolant and oil - but "oil" could also get more.

Mine was looking exactly the same when I drove it for 2 months only extreme short distances.

Clean it off and give it a good run, if it comes back your looking at head gasket or oil cooler.
