Grey Mk4 TDi 150 3door daily
« on: 29 January 2013, 19:36 »
Hello there, I have only signed up tonight after browsing the forum as a guest for quite a while now.

This is our daily driver, family, do everything car and was bought locally in a bit of an unloved state, but based on the price, spec and the relatively minor issues with the car, it was too good an opportunity to pass up

This was it once I had finished with it and as you can see its quite a well specced car for a mk4 let alone a TDi the grey car with the leather Recaros sealed the deal for me before I even viewed the it if I'm honest, the rest of the spec was an added extra, it is also a UK supplied car, not a parallel import

Spec wise it has the following from the factory
Black leather Recaros
MFSW with Full FIS display and Cruise Control
Winter pack
Auto wipers/rear view mirror
Climate control
Sunroof
GTI wood trim and gear knob

Since buying the car a few months back I have carried out the following work and OEM upgrades

Refurbish original Montreal 2s, and fitted new centre caps, replaced missing nut covers
Fitted new OEM front and rear mudflaps
Removed front arch liners to check for corrosion and clean out area on A post behind the liner
Fitted new ARB bushes
Dent removed and reprint of tailgate, new badges were fitted afterwards
New drivers seat base foam
OEM Xenon headlights
Bora Sport Instrument foils
MFD Satellite Navigation
Illuminated Bora Vents
Sachs Clutch and flywheel

Still to be done
Timing belt kit C/W water pump, full service all using genuine parts
Aero wiper arms and Mk5 rear

I know this car probably doesn't really fit in with many on here as its largely still a standard Golf, however when I got it I had looked at many ropey, modified and abused examples, and I was tempted to change the wheels and suspension, however as its our daily driver and my 2yo son is in it everyday, my fiancée pointed out, quite rightly too, that she doesn't want to look like a boy racer in a lowered golf with fancy wheels. I'm glad I've decided just to improve things and retrofit parts that were optional when new.

Looks clean now, rare set of clocks aswell.

you could fire in a set of springs and shocks with a 30/40mm drop. Would keep every one happy.

Cheers but Nope, not happening I'm afraid, my other car is for messing about with

Full FIS Clocks were there when I bought it, I bought another set of half FIS Bora sport clocks, trimmed the foil to fit the full FIS and used the bora sport shroud. Full FIS Sport clocks in 20mins with no coding for £50. Delighted
