weight lifting supplements
« on: 27 January 2013, 20:19 »
anybody heavy into their gym and on proteins, creatine and pre-work out suppliments?
i started october last year and really enjoy it.i was taking jack 3d as a pre work out supplement and had really good sessions with it, i would take it half an hour before gym and my face and arms would tingle before i started, it just felt like it gave me the extra boost to do a couple more reps each set.

unfortunately jack 3d has been banned from the UK as someone died taking it in the states, probably the wrong way or other drugs were in use, i dont know! cant get it any more but only jack 3d micro which i feel is a watered down version of it and its just not that effective

is anybody into their gyming and can recommend me a pre work out supplement??

i have read MENTAL stuff about this, should give you the boost you're looking for. i don't use preworkouts, try and keep it as natural as possible, but i do use protein shakes as i'm too lazy to cook when i'm back, so i eat lots an hour before, and use GNC LiveWell Super Whey Protein. Good stuff.

Have used this before and its lethal stuff, do not take it if you do a late work out, you will not get to sleep.

Great thanks! I will try that! That was the same as the jack if you only did a small session you won't sleep!! A colleague tried it and can't sleep but I will give those a shot! Cheers

Chin it all off, and stick with a good diet.  Plenty of protein and carbs in the right balance will work wonders.

Apparently you're now Lewy.

I've been lingering the BodyBuilding.com forums and have learnt a bunch about this kind of thing. I'm currently doing fat loss but I'm training too. Been doing it a few weeks but your key friend is your diet. Eat the right stuff and you'll be alright. None of this extra buzz crap. You won't be doing yourself any favours.

What would you say is a good diet, how often do you eat?
I understand what you are saying but protein shakes do give you the extra proteins with out carbs

It's bit of a minefield all of this stuff, some people will say good things, some will say bad.

I recommend if you want a bit of a hit before going then knock back some strong black coffee to pep you up or get some caffine tablets. Bananas are a good source of energy before the gym, and/or a weak protein shake to give you a bit more energy.

3 protein shakes a day is a bit much unless you are properly training for competition, if it isn't used it's converted to fat.

If serious then knock your meals down to smaller portions and spread them in to 5/6 meals. Snacks in between are nuts or fruit like cashews, brazils, almonds, apples, satsumas, pears.

Ultimately the above is for weight loss and cutting, if you want to bulk or put on mass then you need a few more carbs and larger lean protein portions.
