Mk4 Best H.I.D kit?
« on: 25 January 2013, 22:32 »
Had a search on here but the one post that looked like would put me in the right direction had been destroyed :( haha

So what I would like to know is which h.i.d kit to go for? There are so many on ebay  so I wondered what folk were running? :)

I have projector headlights but just ordinary bulbs and I'm looking to upgrade to something a bit brighter byt not to burn oncoming eyes :)

Any point in the right direction would be much appreciated :)

Cheers, Hoggy.

My advice, don't bother.

Get better bulbs like some Osram Night Breakers.

Take no notice of those before me. HIDs in projector lights will be a massive improvement, even over nightbreakers if you go for an OEM bulb temperature of 4300k.

Avoid really cheap ebay kits and don't be fooled into 55W instead of 35W. I've had a couple of sets from Nove Blue and they have been spot on.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

As long as they are in projectors (which the OP says they will be), I really don't see the problem

As said in projectors are good as it directs the light a lot more and does not blind others. I have 8k and wish I had gone 6 as I'm over having the blue tint. Only advice I can say is buy from a place that offers a warranty. One of my ballasts failed within 10 months and the replaced it no quibble and paid £40 for them.
