it sits to high so need to ether adjust the mounts or find a bubbel block 2ltr found in some audis code is 3A

if going to the bother of getting a tall block to fit why not find a 16v
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

mk3 lump will usualy foul bonnet on a mk1 unless its  droped a bit , never used the mk3 inlet in a mk1 always swaped the head and used mk1 manifolds
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

mk1 manifolds usally a mk2 head ( for hydralic tappets ) if useing a bubbel block or mk3 bottom end when just doing a 1.8 - 2.0 conversion

or if doing a non gti mk1 to 2.0  tend to use what bits are avalible at the time or are withing budget  usally mk1 manifolds tho on ether mk1 or mk2 head
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
