Decat/down pipe and straight through mid section with standard back box.

I have recently won a 3" decat/down pipe with straight through mid section... I am going to be fitting it onto my standard back box.. Has anyone done this and does anyone have a video of how it will sound? Many thanks

Why bother with a 3" system if you're going to keep your standard back box?

I want it looking oem no exhaust hanging out the back.. And until I get the money to get a discreet upgraded back box It will be connected to the standard back box.

Fair enough, you won't see any performance gains until you ditch the standard back box though.

I've got a 3" turbo back fitted to mine, I had a 45 degree down-turned pipe welded on instead of the standard tail pipe. It's hidden nicely behind a diesel anniversary valance so you can't see it at all

Sounds like a good idea... I know I won't see any gains yet but I couldn't pass up the opportunity for buying it for 70 quid .... Will hopefully get a backbox sorted soon its just finding 1.

I'm going to put an extra silencer in where the cat should be to try and reduce the noise inside the cabin.

Yours won't sound like the with a standard box on it..... It will sound a little raspier and deeper but nothing like that.

When I had mine on you wouldn't have known that I had decat and straight thru on idle and when full throttle it was subtle, and if anything I prob preferred it with a centre box 

(It wasn't 3" between cat and back box)
