many moons ago...after just passing my test...i worked for a small garage, and my boss told me of a car that was coming in, in part-ex, but it was scrap to them,if i wanted it, i could have it..WOW i thought.....so off i went to collect my first "set of wheels"..(it was c1987) and there waiting for me was a British racing green vauxhall viva, 4 door..1100cc.... eventually it started, and i set off home, after a couple of miles, i came to a straight.."time to open her up"...foot down, nothing happens except it gets louder...at the next bend i started to brake...peddle goes to the floor! ..grab the handbrake...does nothing!...bend almost here...i start frantically pumping the peddle, pressure finally returns, but I'm pressing so hard with both feet to stop, that the front floor pan falls off and all i can see is tarmac! It rained on the way home and my trousers got soaked...looked like I wet myself...still laugh about it whenever I see an old vauxhall...
