MPG Mway compared to town.
« on: 18 January 2013, 00:06 »
What a difference in MPG you get from 'normal' city driving and short 20mile journeys here and there compared to say 2 x 250mile trips on the mway!

I thought there was something wrong with my car over my 3 weeks of around xmas, pottering around Soton and Pompey, only managed 500 from a tank and about 48mpg at best!

Just had a 200mile drive back from Lincoln to Soton...Got 53mpg cruising at 80ish on the mway, really pleased and car is back to normal! I thought I was going to have to chase a MPG issue! :lipsrsealed:

My MPG has dipped slightly since the cold spell, but I'm still getting about 530miles to a tank

The cold helps MPG I think  :undecided:...

I normally get 550 from a tank but over xmas I got 480, so I was understandably mortified and thought I had an issue!  :embarrassed:

Cold destroys MPG!!

I combat the drop by fitting smaller wheels and winter tyres. The irony is i know get mor miles out of a tank
