Car wont start
« on: 23 July 2005, 20:55 »
hi i have got a mk3 golf gti 8v .It has been going fine up until today i drove it today about 4 miles stopped off at a couple of places started fine .Then on my next port of call it started and cut out straight away.I started it again and revs dropped and then cut out tried to start again stuck my foot on accelerator revs went to about 2500 and cut out again ,when this happens it will not rev past about 2500 rpm.I got it towed back home and within 10 minutes of being back it started fine. I then took it out for a run and it was going well .Then tonight it has done the exact same again ,again i had it towed back and it started fine. Recentely i have replaced fuel pump relay and fuel filter so shouldnt be those causing problem. It picks its moments its on auto trader for sale and i had a potential buyer coming today.

Eiether the car loves me that much that it cant bear to be parted from me or its that lazy it wants to be towed every where

Any suggestions as to what this may be appreciated before i take a lump hammer to it.

where abouts are you? if it's near Swindon I could plug my vag-com software in and look at any fault codes it might have registered?
