Lowry's PD130 - The Story Begins!!!
« on: 17 January 2013, 18:03 »
I think it’s about time I shared my progress for others to view.

First of all I bought my car in October 2010 an upgrade from my Astra 2.0 DTi.

What an amazing car to drive, plenty of power when needed thanks to it being a 130PD Engine.

So here’s the earliest pictures I could find - at this stage I had only put HID's in the dipped beam. The alloys was already on the car, so was the Rear Lights

iPhones aren't the best for picture taking lol

I wanted to change the alloys and rear lights as soon as I got it but xmas was well on its way, so straight after xmas I was in the market for some alloys and ended up going for some Audi RS8's (Not sure what they are called but everyone calls them this lol), pictures don’t really show how bad they were but let’s say they were fooked and kerbed all round the rims.

Tyres removed then off to a local powder coaters. 3 Days later and a bargain price of 80+VAT they were Gloss Black with 99% of marks, kerbage removed.

 I was well chuffed.

Then I fitted a Flyeye kit.. really easy to fit and looks well in my opinion. There was enough to do the headlights and side repeaters and still have a fair bit left. Can't complain for £15 and its MOT Legal.

Flyeye'd the Clear Side repeaters and Headlights

Removed the old Black Lexus style lights and put the standard GTi ones which look far better in my opinion

Also removed the "Golf" logo on the tailgate just left the TDi logo on

Then gave Her a bit of a quick detail, Washed with Lambswool mitt 2 Bucket Method, Poorboys Black Hole, No wax as some little thieving swine have robbed my Brand New Pete’s 53

Anyway this is how she looks at the moment, I put some Ultra Bright side light bulbs in yesterday and they look amazing at night ooohhh btw (What a *er its is to get them with the headlights still on the car. My hands are cut up to bits lol

 Pics to follow

 Comments welcome

No Update for a while

Since the last time, I have done the following

Fitted JOM Airblade Fitted did toy with the idea of an R32 front & Rear.. But it aint an r32 so why bother, to many replicas out there

Quite a Good Fit to be honest

Fitted Depo Projectors with 4300k HID Kit

Also toy'd with a R-Line Bonnet Bra but didnt like

BBS LM Rep's 19" (Decided They was too Big)

Audi RS6 (But Didnt like the Colour On My Car)

BBS RC014's & RC015's but different stud (5x114) fittem them would have cost me a fortune plus i needed centre caps.
A Member on here has bought them off me...

BBS RC336 Anniversary 18" once again didnt like the finish but what the hell moving on again

Finally...

Feeling quite happy with these so far, loving the gold which has suprised me

Loving the Dish @ The Rear!!

Gotta a funny feeling these are VS-XX Rep's but surley someone will confirm it for me

Once i fit them i decided to do a bit of Vacuuming... Bit OCD

Ooops not kind of planned but should look good with the way I wanna go

Picking it up this afternoon or tomorrow morning

Right bit ov an update

Boot is now painted (OG from ATA Motors) has done a spot on job and very reasonable too.

Its now fitted but not wired up fully yet as the MK5 Handle needs a new microswitch

Anyway heres a pic of it fitted

Oh yeah

Cades Tyrus Wheels bought for an absolute steal of £220 including 6mm tread tyres all round

Little stretch aswell

9J Rear 8 Front ( No spacers yet as they are coming off at the weekend for winter)

Cambelt all done. And very lucky I was. The mechanic told me both belts (Cambelt & Auxilary) were very worn. To my surprise I asked him if he still had them. He found the old Cambelt and bent the rubber to show me all the cracks in it as he did this it snapped and crumbled almost.

So anyone who reads this don't chance it... Replace it lol

Oh yeah cost me a massive £49 for a Cambelt water pump aux belt and thermostat and housing. Doing.

Well changed the wheels today to the rs6 winters.

Forgot to take a pic so took one this evening.

Will get some better ones tomorrow. They actually don't look that bad. Infact I like them

Now I've got my Cambelt done and everything's settled down. I may put the 180BHP Blacksmoke remap on.

Already using the 165BHP blacksmoke map

As anyone used it?? Is it really harsh on the MPG?? And clutch??

Just waiting for better weather, so I can get upto Teesside to say Ray ArD to get my boot sorted

In the meantime I have fitted a set of bora sport clocks.
An amazing mod, I'd recommend anyone doing it.

Got em coded plus
MTE - Yes on Immo2
 Lit Needles
 Anti Hijack
 Alarm Beeps
 Auto Windows
