Where can I buy CL side trims?
« on: 17 January 2013, 07:49 »
Hi.

Anyone got any ebay, amazon or w/e links to coloured side trims à la the CL? I'm tired of the plastic... Can't find any links :(

Cheers.

I would be a lot easier to paint yours as I gotta set of coloured ones but they were scruffy, cost me £30 and I had paint them anyways

Are the CL strips to replace the wider GTI strips as well as been colour coded?
Personally id rather paint some pre-painted  ones rather tha black plastic as they'll already be smoothed.

Didn't know you could color black plastic just like that.... I mean are you sure guys? My car looks like the one in this picture (not my car, just found picture on google!):

Anyway, so you think I could color the side skirts to the green color?? Also, would it be possible with the front and rear bumper black plastic trims? Would be awesome if I could do that. Afterwards I would remove the plastic side trims and the plastic trims by the wheels.

Yes you can, why could you not paint plastic?
Note that you will need to use a different primer than for metal, that's all. But I would be putting off any paint jobs in current weather unless you got a nice heated garage with good ventilation.

If you really want the narrow CL type side trims you can buy them new from ECP.
Cost ya though! Over £100.
Then you have to paint them.

Sod that,  i paid £10 for all my CL strips from a breakers yard. Simply needed a good scrub and some new clips.
