Hey guys & girls :]

Anyone know of or experienced this themselves? Only noticed this while I was changing the rear shocks when lifting the car up and down. COuldn't find anything related on the search.

Basically, if I bounce the rear end I can hear the petrol sloshing in the tank, but I can also hear something ... like grinding against the inside wall. The noise is definitely coming from within the tank and the "grindy" noise is in sync with the petrol sloshing (too and fro), bit like a 2 man saw, ritch...ratch...ritch...and so on if you get my drift :D

Haven't ever had any petrol related issues, pump is fine, and my petrol reading metre is, as far as I can tell also accurate and works.

Any ideas on this? Pickup possibly moved over and now rubbing against inside wall, or maybe the metering thing unit itself moved?

Cheers!

In the rear of the boot, unscrew the fuel pump cover (3 phillips screws).
Then undo the fuel tank cover. Its held on using a massive twist on plastic part. It usually takes a bit of persuasion.

You will then have to pull out the fuel tank level meter. From there you can peer a torch in and see if you can find anything out of the ordinary.
