sheared wheel nut? help!

i've sheared the hexagon and rounded two wheel nuts on one wheel so can't take it off to change suspension.. anyone got any ideas? the nuts were f-ing tight. airgun didn't work, i sheared by standing on an extender bar on the wrench.. on the wheels i did get off the wheels were seized to the hub, took some kicking to get em off!

Gonna have to be drilled out unfortunately! :undecided: I took my car to a bus mot garage, and they had it done in minutes :smiley:

This is why I never do up my nuts with an air gun! Hope you get it sorted tho bud

I sheared a wheel nut once. I could get the wheel off though, and once I did it was possible to spin the bolt remains using a hammer and chisel. Snapping the head off had released all the pressure holding it in.

what size are the bolts ?

get a 1mm smaller IMpact socket and a Big breaker bar.

Hammer the socket on, and

PRAY

the bolts are 18mm. only used airgun to try and undo.. i've never had the wheels off since i bought the car..

i'm thinking i could drill them out at work but i don't want to damage the thread.. i have the tools to do so but i don't know if it's the best option.. i know that some garages have special tools to remove locking wheel nuts, anyone had any experience with them?

how on earth did you get the wheel off without taking the nut off? ha  :huh:

Your bolts should be 17mm not 18mm maybe that's why you have rounded two of them,you can get extractors that fit over the head of the rounded bolts and as you undo it bites into the head and undoes it,once the two rounded bolts are out you should be able to remove the wheel and work on getting the remains of the sheared bolt out ,or you could try welding a nut on if you got a decent welder to use,ive had to do this many times.
