Ages we were students and my mate could never afford to fix it, think it got scraped in the end!

Lol, we had that problem in my mates car many years ago, tried to get to a party and on the way couldnt get up a big hill cause of it slipping. Gave it a few goes then had to give up and go home!  :grin:
did he have a fat chick stashed in the boot  :grin:

Lol... That was similar to my dilema, no cash.. Backs up my point though, worn clutches can soldier on for a while.  It ends up being a game of who does first, the car, or you from the poisonous stink from the burning clutch.

no we had cases of vinyl but there was no way we were going to dump them out!

Sorry for the late response guys,it is a mk3 gti 8v1997..the peddle creaks a little aswell now but i did notice that happened for a few days,bout a month ago way before slipping.really dont wana strand myself as i dont have breakdown cover.p.s. cheers for responses so far   :wink:

After reading again the fact its got a cat sunk in so its certainly not old skool.
