Mate these new djs have no clue what it was like record hunting all weekend


It's a joke these days with the downloads and sync buttons

I use serato now with my technics but in the clubs it's all CDJS which I can use serato with too

Doing my Joy night in feb, Oldskool house and the technics will be their

A awesome line up and the event has sold out with other a month to go

If you use a laptop, mp3s, even CDs maybe, you not a proper DJ.

Turntables. End of. Cut, scratch, bounce.....

As for HMV. Perfect example of how to run a business into the ground by poor Management.
A friend worked as a branch manager for a while in the late nineties.. they didn't even have email, says it all really. That and expensive long term leases on high street shops that hardly anyone was interested in using.

If you don't move forward in business, you are going backwards. Bye.

Personally i have never got on with the level of customer service at HMV for example, "Hi there could you show me where the disney films are please? I can't seem to find them" and id get somethink back like "*points* over there" then he would walk off insted if saying "what film u after exactly? Let me find it for u"
But thats just been my personal experence with HMV however i cannot see them going completely under as they filed for administration which only means they have a certain ammount of time usally 12-14 days to find someone to buy them, if they cannot then the administrators to liqidise the company, selling of all assets and returning stock to the supplyers to gain abit of debt back. This happened when my company (GAME) where in trouble this time last year. But we where bought out after 6 days saving us. Also while in administration HMV will not and connot (by law) offer any refunds, or honor and giftcards as giftcards. However i cannot personally see HMV go the music industry simply will mot alow it after all if HMV goes sony music industry will cribble and simon cowl will in turn take a hit as HMV count for a good % of the music industry sales

Personally I dont give a toss as I hardly buy any music these days as its so crap!
Back in the old days of Vinyl and could get into London I preferred to shop at Tower Records rather than HMV

I didn't mind HMV as they always had a decent selection and lot of unusual stuff; however I always found the staff to be utter cnuts.

They always seemed to think they were WAY cooler than anyone else because "they worked in a record shop", and sneered at whatever choices you may be buying. As for help from them? Forget it. :rolleyes:
