The attached article says it all really the silly buggers, they should have been long ago. Hopefully we can catch the last of the independent stores and encourage others to have a pop too!

Good little read.

I agree that was a good read ! I can't believe HMV even employed people to run their company who brushed off the threat of the internet for music sales, fools

Feck! Iv got a £50 voucher to use ASAP then

Keep an eye on citizens advice, they are putting together a 'what to do' article in this case. According to a few business people on twitter if it was bought with a credit or depit card you have a 'charge back' option. Have a little read here...

They have always been expensive compared to other places. On line was sometimes half the cost of HMV. I never liked them.

Serves the bas tards right IMO

The amount of independent record shops they have helped shut down in the years gone by

As a dj, this is a big thing to me

This.

Everyone is crying about losing the high street shops, HMV, Jessops, Comet. These are the retailers that 10-15 years ago everyone was moaning were killing the independent retailers! Comet killed all the electrical sellers, Jessops killed 99% of the camera shops and HMV killed all the little record shops. Now everyone's moaning that these are dying? I don't get it?

I used to DJ but stick to production these days, last time I properly spun the wheels of steel was when you could still relatively easily buy vinyl from decent music shops where all the non-commercial stuff was.  When this era ended, so did my visits to music stores. Sadly it seems the best way to keep the steel spinning is with time coded vinyl but I miss the regular outings of trying before buying.
