Indicators flashing

My wife tells me twice in the past week when she is driving about town the indicators have flashed fast as If she is unlocking the car. Have any of you had this or is she loosing the plot

No never had that.  She didn't accidentally knock/lean on the internal door locking switch on door arm rest did she?  Not sure if that would trigger the indicators like the locking/unlocking with the key does.

I asked her and she said she was just driving normally and they flashed.

Haha! I disabled this feature as it was somewhat embarrassing if I was driving enthusiastically and had to slow down quite fast. And then the hazards start flashing

iirc, I noticed an option whilst looking through the bytes through VCDS. I think this option said something like 'main brake lights flash during hard braking'.

Did I imagine this byte/option or has anyone here set this? I haven't had a chance to plug the laptop into the car recently

I enabled it in VCDS but it never worked.
