Loss of power

Hi as some may know a few days ago I fitted a EGR delete kit and all has been well until this morning.After a brief drive I noticed the car sounded louder from under the bonnet stopped had a look and it turned out the small metal pipe that goes onto the inlet manifold that was attached to the old EGR had split causing the blowing sound.Anyway sorted that removed that pipe and fitted the delete plate back onto the inlet and stopped it blowing.Now what I've noticed is the car seems to not boost straight away and seems sluggish until you get the revs up higher it will start to pull ok but not as strong as it usually does.The car actually sounds louder now as well compared to yesterday sounds made in know but it does plus my MPG are not as good either.Had a chat with a friend and he said that the car will need remapping to map the EGR out which I'm getting sorted shortly.Just curious if anyone else has had a similar issue it's almost like the car is in a kinda limp mode bare in mind everything was fine before so I can't see it being nothing major and the car still drives fine just slower at the min thanks.

Just had it tested for faults and no faults found or error codes etc.

What year is the car and engine?

I did the same thing as you and left the flexi pipe on 

Fitting the blanking plate to the manifold cured the problem mind 

Have you blocked the pipes that were going to the EGR valve (you are meant to by the way)

Yeah blocked the vacuums off however they wasn't but its still the same.The cars a 2002 100 bhp pd it had been remapped before I had it not sure who buy though.Car just seems to hold back until it hit about 3k on the revs and its bit louder.Mate reakons the fresh air or delete kit has knocked the old map out.

Don't know then lol have to see what the lad says who does the mapping etc

It must be to do with the delete kit as it was perfect before so I can only think it needs mapping out have to see.

I cannot see how that would affect your car in any other way than posotive?!

I would start with a smoke injection test into your turbo pipes to see if you've got a leak somewhere, thats the easiestbway of finding a boost leak. It could be a complete coincidence. But I'm finding it strange that there's no fault codes..boost leaks would usually cause a fault code...air mass meter might not...

Boost leaks never brought a code up on my 130. I had the EGR to intercooler pipe blow off, the red turbo pipe split and the intercooler was leaking and at no point did it flag up a code
