This is a pseudo HDR with 3 exposures, -1/0/+1 merged in Photomatix, edited in Photoshop. I used a pseudo because I liked the beautiful sky behind. Critique welcome!

Like it.

Also how do you do hdr?

Ive done it on static objects i.e three exposures+ then combined the images. but how do you do all three eexposures at once or however you have done this?

on the computer, using one file, make 3 exposures out of it then combine them. Easier if you shoot Raw.

The empty foreground does not do anything for me, neither does the HDR. Have you tried using a grad on the sky on the original?
