lost 1st/2nd and reverse

help please 130 gt tdi was working fine then lost 1st 2nd and now reverse ???

You'll have to be a bit more descriptive than that.

By lost do you mean, the gear goes into the gate but nothing happens or you can't get the selector into the gate?

it goes into the gate, but feels like its not doing anything ( no resistance)  and reverse was ok but now feels like its chewed somthing in the linkage, it didnt go in then i found it but linkage didnt feel good ???

Something similar happened to my mine, alls it turned out to be was a small piece of plastic had broken next to linkage, £10 and 10 mins to sort.

In engine bay next to gear box, on my 1.8 t it was on right hand side of engine. When you push down on gear stick to go into reverse a part of the linkage lifts to go into reverse. A small bit of plastic had broke in there on mine that stopped it lifting. I only had 3rd and 4th gear!

cheers i will have a look in the morn, it only happened at 5ish tonight so not had a look yet,  i had just used 2nd stopped to pick my kids up and then it had gone, with no warning etc,  so im hopeing its going to be easy and cheep to do lol

Not mechanically minded but hope it gives u an idea of what to look for.
