Audi TT arb
« on: 09 January 2013, 15:32 »
Just got a call from the garage stating that they are having a couple issues with the figment of my ARB. They said that when they connected it up to the adjustable droplinks, the links looked at an awkward angle? :undecided:

Has anyone got some pics of how it should look, or a picture guide?

To confirm, these are the parts going on...

Dilemma over! Just realised that the TT arb is shorter than the OEM arb meaning that the droplinks need spacing slightly! I'll update with pics shortly!

This was the angle the droplink was being forced to sit at..

Then spaced up...

One thing that has been noticed is the fact that on the drivers side, the arb is exceptionally close to the underside of the driveshaft when elevated off of the ground. It shouldn't be as bad when pressure is put back on the wheels, but is this normal??

haha, I read the first post, and was about to reply to say you need small spacers, then scrolled down and you'd got it sorted. Glad to see it's sorted mate.

N/S driveshaft looks different to me, very fat! I guess it's a 6 speed?

drivers side shaft is longer so in theory has more travel when off the floor and lets the hub drop lower. This is a bonus when changing shocks lol

Haha, was learning and posting as I went along! Yeh it is a 6speed :smug:

Got it all sorted and when it was taken off of the lift there was plenty of room!

I thought that if I took loads of pics whilst I could, it would help others planning on doing this in the future!

19mm, but 21mm where the bushes fit.

Think it's more for the lows, i.e. TT ARB goes under driveshaft where the std ARB loops over the top (and fouls driveshaft once you get to about -35/-40mm.
