Peugeot 207 hdi auto, good cars, good boxes, cheaply serviced, mega mpg, generally very reliable
Downside, it French, but they still build the best Diesels!
Japs still don't know how to build a diesel!

2.2 Honda Accord engine is brilliant IMO!
207 on the other hand... Mate has a 1.4 petrol with 35k. Headgasket already gone but been sorted. Yes that's a petrol but it has so many other electrical faults! Seatbelt warning lights, occasional random ABS faults etc.
It's being traded in.
Like the one we have in atm, with a knackerd crank at 80k
We specialise in Peugeots, all we ever do to 207s is service them, and occasionally clear out the drain points on the scuttle, and sills, replaced the plugs on the rear lamps when they corrode, Peugeot now do a kit for a cheap proper repair for a few quid, and who the hell would buy a petrol 207, when you can get a diesel!

I know of a huge amount of engine knock on a 207 diesel of some sort on an 03 too but the odd one doesn't count.
Some pug engines are brilliant. Just the feel of the cars I hate. Even under the bonnet everything just feels cheap plastic.
Never know the the bloke when his dad bout the 1.4 207 but the electrics are all the same I'm sure inside. Had a lot of issues with it.
