Got wet carpet in passenger footwell took up the carpet and sound deadening today to try and locate the leak but to no avail . Matrix is good door membrane good sunroof drain good scuttle drain good floorpan good  so I'm a little stumped.
Thinking now of taking screen out and resealing it although the carpet is only wet were your feet go not any further up.
Anyone got any other ideas?
I'm gonna run with no carpets see if owt happens

Thinks that's ok the top of the carpets under the dash are dry it's just the footwell itself that's wet through
 And that's the mystery

i know my leak drips down from behind the fuse box somewhere under the carpets and havent been able to find the source yet - bloody thing. could be a missing grommet somewhere up round the servo?

That could be the plate under ecu which is where the polling filter mesh thing would be on a left hand drive car. I ve chased all these leaks, still dripping through throttle cable even though I went round it with windscreen sealant

Took off mesh cover today and gave it a beed of sealant although the foam gasket didn't look wet
Because the carpets are out I will hopefully see where it's coming from or hopefully not now
Other than everything else I've done it just leaves the windscreen seal

If you've got a leak dripping on the fuse box have a look at the bonnet pull cable grommet that's a common one

Where the bonnet release would be on a LHD car there is a blanking plate. Looked well secure on mine, but there was a little leak from there. Should be easy to spot from above and seal up, but had to take out carpet underlay and dash to see it from the inside... Will be worth taking out the underlay if there is water in the footwell, it will be horribly smelly and rotten under the carpet... dry it all out and fit new underlay
