Car alarm siren

Hi my mk3 gti has a vw scorpian alram fitted .It works fine but the siren has fallen to pieces so lights flash but no sound .I have found a replacement at my local motor world for a fiver does anybody know if it is as easy as just wiring replacment siren into the wires from old siren or would i need one from scorpian.

If its just the siren (and not a sealed unit that houses the 'brain' of the alarm) its likely to be just two wires (pos and neg) and any similar siren should work.

Cheers for the reply the brain of the alarm is under passenger footwell so should be ok
