MAF meter
« on: 06 January 2013, 14:43 »
The fixing screws that hold it in, looking at it, I thought I had a tool for it. Which tool specifically is it? I've many torx tools with the dimple in the centre, but these screws appear to have 5 points instead of the usual 6.

Edit: After some digging around, I may have the wrong screws. I were looking at the ones directly by the plug, but that may not be how to remove it fully. Will go and check.

I got the unit out, but still had to undo those other screws to actually access the element.

I soaked it in a jar of Isopropyl for a while and gave it a good shake. A few bits of dirt came out, will see if anything's changed. If not, then a new one is needed.

to get the element out they are 5 point security torx. I just used a flat blade screwdriver with a bit cut out of the centre lol
