mk3 engined mk2 (where to put ECU)
« on: 04 January 2013, 20:09 »
iv got an AAM engine in my mk2 (was given to me, not my choice) so it runs fine with very little work, but i was wondering  how do people mount their ECU's? iv brought it into the car through the bulkhead grommet, but i dont no how to mount it. someone said to cable tie it to the heater matrix channel, but that sounds a bit dodgy.

Cheers Paul

Well I suppose its up to you really, when I did my abf, I opened the loom up an rejigged it so that the ecu sat in the same place the std 8v digi was mounted and I modified the original bracket to take the larger ecu, just so it looked a touch more oem, I have to admit it was something of a ballache lol

Some people mount them to the back of the centre console, as there is plenty of room for the likes of a DATA/MEGASQUIRT ECU.
