Ive been told that hubcentric spacers put extra strain on the wheel barings.. Jow true this is i dont know.. But i just went for some fk 8mm wheel spacers with extended bolts on the rear... Brings the rear out so they sit the same as the front.

I brought 35/30 h&r bolt on spacers which are highly rated and im even sceptical about using them when i get round to it ! They were from awesome for around £210 for the 4.

The problem with the fk ones is that your screwing into alli which is a fail waiting to happen i would go for the bolt through type quick search on ebay i found these 181013113437

There steel arnt they ? And they have proper bolts not stupid allen headed things that will inevitably round off at some point  :grin:

I'm torn now!!

I'm not gonna lower it anymore than 40mm cos I ain't starting on the arb etc so will I still need spacers??? Where exactly will it rub for the need for spacers???

Rather than start a new topic I thought i'd ask here.

This might sound a bit newbish but I've had spacers on like those above since I got the car however they were just attached on with longer bolts though the holes with no threads (the holes filled with bolts holding it to the hub on the top picture) Is this totally wrong and could it cause problems? I think my baring is going which is the only reason i've been search through things and ended up noticing?!

I've recently switched to some 15mm alli ones, which are not threaded, i'm guessing the ones I have on now aren't hubcentric and the 20mm bulky ones I had on before were hubcentric but I had them fitted wrong, would that be right?! If so Am i better switching back but fitting them as above?
