Although looking at this mine is set to 00 which maybe is no help if it is masking the original value. If its really massive problem I can always send them back to you (once of course parcel force delivery for a refund of course).

I believe from reading here you need to set it to 03 then 00. To make it back to stock look and operation. http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4898893-LED-tail-Install-with-or-without-Rear-Fog./page2

Aj,

Thanks, no real prob the car is getting part exed on the 12 th, just wanted it sorted by then, hopefully the dealer will sort it, they have raised a dis with VW UK. Otherwise it will go as is, i will just make sure i leave the lights on off. Hopefully u should get the LED,s tomorrow, enjoy. Mine certainly looks rubbish without them.

You have got me wondering what mine will need to be and I think for a 0575 module its 15.  But I am wondering the same issue of when that day comes what do i set it back too, if I can be bothered of course.  I have a VCDS so I can experiment, although I certainly dont want to brick my BCM9. Although I have read some posts that seem to suggest the newer module needs no coding for them to work ok.

Your rite, when i fitted mine Stevep was surprised i didn't need a new bcm when he looked at the coding, as mine is an 09 car. Somehow i got away with it. Seems strange that a dealer cant sort it without having to raise reports to VW UK though.

Paul

From memory you need to set it to 00 but you can't do this directly, you have to set it to say 15 first then to 00 and it'll keep it at that value.

So what i can work out Byte 18 is the 18th pair of number or letter combinations from the left in the long code, not including the first 2 for some reason. I looked on the vw vortex forum and that seems to be how it works, just want to get it clear in my head when i go back to the dealers if they still are clueless in a day or so.

^^Yes.

First set is Byte 00 then 01 so Byte 18 is the 19th pair.
