AGU build thoughts :)

Morning Chaps,

Iv got a 99 AGU on a engine stand in the garage, between now and summer i want to mod it as a winter project.

Im aiming for a RELIABLE 350hp 

So... what would you guys do? im pretty handy with a screwdriver and mole grips lol.

Include detais, names, prices ect :)

firstly...that exhaust is not stealth  :laugh: and also whats the AGU running at the mo? any mods already etc etc

Its just Agu lump and box with fly and clutch conversion,

its actual engine work i need advice on.

I.e Different manifolds, injectors, cams, internals, opinions on best turbos ect

keep it cheap but i dont mind buying over time and fining bargains

Plenty of folk on here have done it also try look on ukmk4s u did only just post at 2:30pm lol nae everyone will have seen this... Toby had a fair beast of a mk4 maybe pm him

really the only thing you would need to upgrade is the rods as the oem one ive seen fail at 300-350bhp 280-300lbft plus the AGU head flows well for 300-400bhp but id say if your going to do it do it properly.

Im hoping once mine it mapped it should be around that bhp on my AGU, to save money I made the exhaust, TIP, and exhaust manifold and built it all myself but ive still spend thousands!

Once you start you want to do it properly so everything adds up. Ive used a MHI turbo cheap and seem to be much stronger than the IHI turbos. Dont hear many stories of MHI turbos blowing up unlike the IHI.

Get a Garrett if you can afford it but at around 1k, exhaust manifold(decent tubular) around 1K and a down pipe around £400 already talking loads of cash without any of the supporting mods needed!
