God knows how much the garage are going to charge me today for fitting the 3 locks.

I phoned up yesterday afternoon expecting it to be done, but he told me it was a big job and it was taking longer than he thought.

Guess I find out in about a hour, just how much it is has cost

Cheers anyway mate.

Just annoying me. Booked it in the garage on the 10th, then had to order the locks in , which should of took 2 days at most. They took a week to arrive, but managed to get them to the garage last Friday.

He is telling me even though I got the locks to him Friday afternoon, he is fully booked with cars at the moment so only managing to work on my car in between jobs. I do kinda understand but would of thought he would of tried to get it done a bit quicker for me, seeing how long I have been without the car now

It took me an hour tops first one I did surely they would just stay late get it done I would have helped you if you was closer to me. I have taken things to the garage and sometimes unless they know the cars inside out you can do them in same time as long as you have the tools.

Hopefully I will get my car back today.

Really can't see any reason why it should take them longer than 3 days to fit 3 locks, fully booked or not, would think they would want my car gone, seeing as it has been there 2 weeks.

Just worried what he will charge now, with him keep banging on about what a big job it is , every time I phone up.

Still not f**king done.

I really have had it with this garage now, once again his excuse was that as I did not get the locks to him until last Friday he had to book a full weeks work so has had no time to work on mine. Not like it is a small garage, got like 20 odd staff in there.

Not sure why a 3 hour job could not be done over the last 3 days

Where did you take it?

Might be worth just telling them to forget it and picking it up. It's not a big job, it's three door cars off, 2 bolts for the window, 10 bolts for the inner door bit and two bolts for the door lock module. It took me about 3 hours to figure out how to do it myself for the first time. I could now do it in about 45 - 60 mins.

Ring up ask how much work they have done on it. If they say lots, tell them they are bullsh!tting. If they say none, say take the car away and do it yourself. Or ask for a definite date and price for it to be finished.

DIY is very easy.

EDIT: To be fair on the garage, if they had you booked in the week before and are at capacity this week. You got the parts to them by COB friday. They've only had the stuff to do the job less than three days. As much as it's annoying when it's your car out of action, you cant magic 11 hours work from an 8 hour day.

I agree take it out and do it yourself. Front ones are easy and back ones ain't to bad just a bit tricky with get module out with window runner still in place. There's a link on here how to do them
