Drivers door not shuting

The other week in the cold weather, my door would not open in the morning, happened twice but since then I am now having a lot of trouble shutting the door.

When I do go to shut it , it just bounces back open. I have tried pushing the door catch down before shutting it but it still happens. Sprayed WD40 on it, still no luck

Took me 15 attempts today to shut it and soon or later I can see window braking as really having to slam the door

had this with the mrs one once.... as you close it, close it with the handle pulled out (like you are opening it) and as it is slams release the handle...... weather it works for you i dont know but its worth a shot  :wink:

Will give it a go mate. Is there a long term fix for it, if so how much?  :sad:

i had this on a fiesta once had to replace the locking module that locks when to shut the door to hold it closed. basically scrap yard is a good place to get one

Had this TWICE on my gti. You need new module. And i would get asap. After few times it will just jam open then you wont be able to close the door :sad:

How much is a new module and is it easy to fit yourself?

Got to admit it is becoming harder and harder to shut the door each day

About £20-30 and no aint hard bud if you are good diy. ask around guys breaking mk4s n forum too. I think i have a module lying around but its for passenger rear so no use to u.

They not too tricky to fit, but you will need an m8 spline drive bit to remove the 2 bolts holding the module in the door, don't try using a torq bit as they will round off!
