« on: 16 December 2012, 12:03 »
Ok after asking the question awhile back someone said to order 3mm silicone hose to replace the black hose ontop of the DV however as I went to fit it today I noticed the 3mm hose I ordered from RAMAIR just wont do the job lol, any idea of the correct size please guys?

3mm is right, have you tried to fit it yet? I can't quite make out the size from the picture but the hose you have bought looks larger than 3mm

Just for reference, 3mm vacuum hosing is the same size as what I used on my forge 007 (located towards my throttle body)

3mm is definitely correct, as rockmonkey says the black hose looks to be much larger than 3mm. You'll need to stretch the new hose over the top of the d/v, but it will fit

3mm is the internal diameter. The black hose is thicker walled hose.

as Steve said its all about the ID (internal diameter) 3mm id is fine for all the takeoffs on the inlet manifold and to your DV

with 3mm ID you also dont need to use any zip ties/clamps, they are snug enough

I bought them from various places, merlin motorsport and ebay. Just be sure with certain applications that the hose is fit for purpose. If it's carrying fuel it has to be made for this purpose, likewise with methanol. For breather hoses it matters less as it will just be oil vapour at most at negligible pressure.

I need to redo mine properly in the summer/spring too, I need to do the whole length in a single length and also need to re-route the fuel line so that it is more discreet.
