easy question, insurance on 8v and 16v

ok quick question cos i'm lazy and can't be arsed to get a quote :)

i think i know the answer to this but does anyone know if insurance is more expensive for 16v golfs rather than 8v? obviously 16v has more power but if you do know...let me know!

pretty sure though 16v is more expensive, 2.0 8v was more expensive than 1.8 8v....

Infinite variables tbh.  Most of the time theres sod all difference though,  i only paid an admin fee to swap mine from an 8v toa 16v.

similar to ^^^ there wasnt much difference between the two quoates when i was looking


Mk1 Golf 1.1, 6n Polo 16v, and now an 8v mk3 GTi

I got lots of quotes for 8 and 16v before i bought my mk3 and there was sod all difference in price.

mmm interesting! thought 16v would be way more. ill have to get a quote and see then. looks like my new golf could be a 16v! :) that would be sweet

i guess mk3's are a bit more boy racer than mk5's hence higher insurance
