So ive got ht leads to change today but in the box theres a small packet with 4 little silver nuts in? What are these for? Ive never changed leads before ive been told theyre just pull off n replace but want real advice before i screw the car up and bugger it from starting/running

They are most likely intended for the thread on the spark plugs.
Are they ali and round?

Kinda depends on what leads they are, if they don't stay firm on the plug you needs these so don throw em yet

You MIGHT need them. On my agg i had to use them from my old sparkies when i renewed them a month ago. It might give a better spark
