Tbh Its your car, you can do what you like with it, But i will say one thing and that is even if you were to put the engine in the MK2, It will have power lol, But then again looking at the MK2, Its nothing special as its one of the early ones and with it being a 1.3 base model, That does not help either.

If you really want to own a MK2, Sell up and buy a GTI and then drop the engine in, Like that the car will have character and it will be appealing.

But so far the MK3 looks loads better than this particular MK2

how dare you dis my lil 1.3 !!!  lol it might be the most undersiable model but i cudent care less. by the time im done with it no one will know it was once a 1.3. it took me long enuff to save to buy this car there is no way i can afford a gti and wont be able to for a long time, but what i can do is slowely make my 1.3 into a gti rep. thaat to you my sound silly but to me thats what its all about building your own car from what you can afford to start with and do what i can over time. it will take a long time to get the car the way i want it but once finished ill be able to sit back and say i did that. the satasifaction will be fantastic alone.

i can see your point but i havent got a lot of money all i have is time and knoledge to be able to do this myself.  i borrowed the money from my step dad to buy the mk3 in the first place, and im paying him back over time.

pluss this i an early model which has draw backs like left hand wipers which are a bit annoying. but im going to go mono anyway, pluss no thrid wiper hole to rot out. i brought this car aswell after seeing it is such a solid example. no rot in all the normal  places, havent found any rot anywhere else and its just been mot'ed and they also found no rot. its a great base car for a conversion and im sticking with it all the way!!

Even I know it's a MK2, But my Point is stop messing about with a 1.3 and buy a proper thing, and I'm not trying to put him down. That's just my opinion, Simple

When I say if you want a MK2, I mean by the proper thing I.E GTI

No standard mk2 gti is better than a mk2 shell with mk3 abf and running gear I.E 288mm brakes and 5stud hubs.

A mk2 mk3 abf conversion will smash a mk2 gti 16v!

Fcuk this lot bamfish!!!

What I want to know is he gloating? Is he a sadist?

Why come in the Mk3 Section and tell us he is ripping the heart out of a Mk3 to put in a duff ugly Mk2?
Why not post in the Mk2 Section they would love him!
And he is certainly not joining the Mk3 brigade!
