Rear heated screen 3 elements not working

As above guys I've lost 3 elements on my rear heated screen one at the top and 2 at the bottom can they be repaired I've seen some kind of conductive paint in the motor factors that you put on broken elements but I can't see any on my golf I've not removed the plastic yet to have a look at the edges of the window I wonder if its broken down there ?

I think they are sandwiched between the glass mate - use de icer or a scraper
