Range Rover Sport any day of the week.
If you're desperate for 7 seats...better still than the RRS, the Discovery.
Pushing the LR pretty hard there
Location Warwickshire? Wouldn't happen to be Gaydon would it?
I've have a Disco too.
Good spot

But no I don't work for LR. I actually think some of their new stuff makes you look as much of a c*nt as an X5 or Q7.
We've had plenty in the past though, and I think all things considered, a pre 2011 Discovery 4 is the best all round vehicle on the road. Number of reasons for this, and I'm sure I'll get some flack for it!
It's ok saying the X5 is the only one that drives 'properly'. What's properly? If you're referring to relatively uncomfortable (compared to the Disco, Range Rovers and a 5 Series) then yes it does that very well. If you're referring to wallowy (compared to a 5 series) then yes it's very good at that as well. It's just a big 5 Series with none of the benefits of being a tall 4wd vehicle.
The X5 is an excellent example of a car that just mixes all the disadvantages of 2 types of car with no benefits. The driving position isn't as good as Land Rovers, the ride is uncomfortably firm, it uses as much fuel as a big 4x4, yet is slower than the much more frugal 5 Series...the list goes on.
I usually take what Clarkson says with a pinch of salt, but this sums it up properly....
