VR6 Engine Question
« on: 10 December 2012, 16:43 »
When i bought my VR6, The bloke said to me that the engine had been De-Limited.

The thing i want to know now is what does he mean by that?, Basically when i floor it, The Revs shoot up to redline very quickly and even though the Revs are on redline, The engine is still pulling very very hard.

It feels as though it likes to sit on redline

It does feel quick, I've Had Corrado VR6, MK2 VR6 & MK3 VR6 in the past and compared to them, it's a different ball game altogether.

Any Suggestions??

yes but the revs act differently

vr6 clocks are set up for 6cylinders

If it redlines in 3rd and carries on like a vtec then you have the wrong clocks my friend

it does the red lining in all gears, and to be honest, I've just gone in the garage and had a look and it has 140 MPH clocks in, silver with red needles, look like anni clocks to me.

Or he's removed/moved the rev limit.

At what revs does it hit the rev limit?
Or does it just rev and say scream at 7500rpm with no rev bounce?
