Remote Central Locking Kit...who has fitted one...?
« on: 08 December 2012, 16:08 »
Right, after the mess that was me getting locked out of my car I want to fit remote central locking to my mk3. It already has central locking but not remote.

Has anyone retro fitted one of these kits to mk3 that already has central locking and what kit do they recommend...? Also how easy was it...?

Thanks

Alex

If it has central locking i'd imagine you'd only need one actuator and a receiver for it? Think they'll only need a live and ground, and the actuator will plug into the receiver. I've got a kit that i was going to fit into my old megane, and then into the Mk3 as it came with no fob, but found a remote for me ancient alarm system! Mine was a £25 ebay job, and to be honest, feels as cheap as it was!

Is it just central locking, or was it Remote, but the fobs been lost?

That cr in the guide already has central locking from factory on the key like yours . All your doing is wiring in a "brain" that tells the exsisting central locking to lock and unlock via its remote .
