locked out of my vw golf
« on: 05 December 2012, 22:05 »
hi i have a bit of a head scracher i have just got a golf mk3 2.0 gti p reg everything running good but yesterday after work, parked up at home and locked the car with the key on the drivers door PAS door with key don't work and boot (must be a replacement key, its not remote centrol locking not now anyway) and when i went to go out again it would'nt open , the key moves in the barrel but i think or know the barrel has broke, Now the head scracher its got a full electric cliffard closure alarm i think cos all windows go up when locking, all windows down when opening etc. FULLY DEADLOCKED . IM LOCKED OUT iv put wedges in the door and tried opening it from the inside no luck . can anyone help i dont want to damage the car and dont want to smash windows. must be a way to get into boot or bonnet to disable the deadlock and alarm.

Can you get the barrel out? Mine had this and theres a small 'bit' on the end of the barrel that snapped! With the barrel out (it just slipped out on mine :?) i managed to unlock it somehow with varios small tools going through where the barrel was!

i think you need to immobilise somehow.. my golf had a quirk where it locked me out with the keys in ignition, we put wedges in the door and coat-hangered down but the door locks and the pull handles inside didn't work after it had locked itself. in the end we pulled out the keys from the ignition and pressed the fob.

it also locked once with my mate still in it and he couldn't get out! so i think to disable your deadlock you can only use the key or the immobiliser fob (if you got one). maybe disconnecting battery may help (if you can get the bonnet up!)

good luck

Did you try what I suggested? It worked for me when I was locked out.
