dis it matter?
« on: 05 December 2012, 01:22 »
been strugling with this for a while now, bought a 4 year old golf with full dealer servis history, its gonna need servised in january should i take it back to the dealer that done it originaly or take it to the nearest/cheapest mecanic?

i recon i am gonna keep it a fair few years mysell but i am gonna get it servised by sombody that knows what there doing, as i am fairly nearly hopeless with cars.

if i am gonna keep it it shouldnae matter that it was looked after by a nither mechanic, should it?
would it impress any body that a 14 or 15 year old golf was full dealer servised and would that translate into £££?
whats your veiws?

personally ide take it to a dealer if  mine had full vw service history.

i do all my services myself but would like to say it has a full vw service history.

doubt youde see more money when it comes to selling the car, and would cost you more than doing it your self or taking it to a garage, but if it was me i wouldnt want to ruen the fvwsh

This is amazing, he's managed to type in a scottish accent.

You need to keep the FSH. If it has full VW service history, i'd keep that. It will be worth slightly more (will probably offset the extra expense of the dealer), but is a big plus when you come to sell, as people look for it.

As people have the somewhat erroneous idea that dealers have any idea how their cars work.

You need to keep the FSH. If it has full VW service history, i'd keep that. It will be worth slightly more (will probably offset the extra expense of the dealerdoubt it, would raise the selling price a bit, but not to offset the dealers prices), but is a big plus when you come to sell, as people look for it.

People type like that all the time up here. I just dont because i know you guys will slate it! Also really hard to read unless you speak it.

Doric is far far far worse!!

Try understanding a woman from Peterhead who speaks fast in doric and mumbles...

As per car, id personally take it to a dealer. Or if you know a specialist that would be ideal.
