Or more to the point, adaptive cruise control.

Can it be retro fitted?

GT's come with cruise as standard, it's just boggy cruise is crap in this country.

I wondered if there were any aftermarket kits, but then again, who'd accept responsibility if it went wrong and ended up in a monumental accident?

No retrofit's as far as I'm aware...it's a bit more complex than just holding speed like standard aftermarket cruise.

Have you ever driven an adaptive cruise fitted vehicle? I've driven the Jag XJ, 7 Series and Range Rover and it's crap in all. So slow to respond, rough, and wears brakes out at an alarming rate. It was extremely frustrating also.

I drove a RRS with it and thought it was brilliant. It only seemed to be hard on the brakes if it was set at too high a speed. 70-80mph on the motorway it was spot on.

There are adaptive cruise items when I have been scanning the modules in the GTD.

Had it on a cc drove to Edinburgh, 3 hours with out touching the medals awesome piece of kit. Even at 40-50 mph following traffic just steering in a dsg. Of course standard on mk7 se and above......

A mate works in R&D for Honda. The new CRV has lane detection. If it senses you have drifted out of your lane without making any steering inputs, it will take over the steering, keeping the car between the lines for 10 seconds whilst it beeps at you to wake you up.

When they were testing it on the M4, they changed the 10 seconds that the car takes over to an infinite time and let go of the steering wheel. With the adaptive cruise on, the car literally drove itself for mile after mile.
